Discrimination in the workplace?
It’s illegal for you to be discriminated against on the basis of Age, Disability, Gender Reassignment, Marriage or Civil Partnership, Pregnancy and Maternity, Race, Religion or Belief, Sex or Sexual Orientation. If you feel that you’ve been treated unfairly at work due to any of these, you may have a case for discrimination against your employer. To speak to a sympathetic and experienced employment discrimination solicitor, call us on 02890 422556 or contact us and we’ll call you.
Harassment in the workplace?
You’ve the right to be treated fairly and decently in the workplace. If you’re being bullied or harassed – whether subtly or openly – the law is on your side when you decide to take a stand. Examples of bullying in the workplace include excessive criticism, particularly in front of others, being unfairly excluded from team activities, meetings and emails, constant teasing, verbal abuse or sexual innuendo, threats with regard to your job security or being humiliated or demeaned in front of others.
If your employer has failed to take action to prevent you being bullied or harassed in the workplace, you should speak to an experienced employment solicitor as soon as possible. We’re here to support and guide you throughout this process. To speak to a sympathetic and experienced employment solicitor, call us on 02890 422556 or contact us and we’ll call you.
Unfair Dismissal and Constructive Dismissal?
If you’ve been so unfairly treated at work that you had to resign, you may have a claim for constructive dismissal. Constructive dismissal – also known as unfair dismissal – occurs when your employer has treated you so badly that you’ve no choice but to resign. Situations such as being demoted without just cause, not being paid, unreasonable changes having been made to your working conditions, failure to provide a safe working environment, lack of support to perform your role or important benefits set out in your employment contract being withdrawn, are all examples which could lead to a constructive dismissal claim against your employer.
In the first instance, you should speak to one of our friendly, specialist employment solicitors as soon as possible, ideally before you resign. Call us on 02890 422556 or contact us and we’ll call you.
If you’re at risk of redundancy or have been made redundant, there are employment laws to ensure you’re treated fairly. Talking to a specialist solicitor could save your job, make sure you receive your entitled redundancy pay or help you claim for redundancy. We understand redundancy is stressful and you need people on your side. Our experienced solicitors are here to advise you on all aspects of dealing with redundancy. Call us on 02890 422556 or contact us and we’ll call you.
